Press and talks
Here you’ll find links to TMIL in the press, plus the talks Claire’s been giving that are in the public domain. Our roving reporter, Tamara O’Brien, covers as many of the talks as possible, so you’ll find quite a few write-ups linking to the blog.
At the Chartered Governance Institute’s virtual annual conference, 5-7 July, the second day saw TMIL author Claire Bodanis facilitating a discussion between company secretaries Sally Fairbairn of energy giant SSE, and Lorraine Clover of media group Reach. Two issues currently dominating reporting were on the agenda: the coming requirement to file the annual report in a taggable XHTML format, and the not-entirely-straightforward road towards a global set of ESG reporting standards.

Directors sign off the annual report, but how involved are they really? How involved should they be, and why? Claire and her guests explore the key role of the Board in the annual report.
’Twas the webinar before Christmas, and in a dark, chilly basement somewhere Dickensian, author Claire Bodanis, founder of Falcon Windsor; auditor Maria Kepa; and independent investment and governance expert Paul Lee gathered by lantern-light to discuss the relationship between auditors and companies in the wake of the Brydon Review. Their conversation was captured with faithful and utmost accuracy (1) by TMIL’s roving reporter, Tamara O’Brien.
(1) In our opinion this write-up gives a fair, balanced and understandable (FBU) view of the discussion and its participants thereof. A well-wisher
